Santo Domingo - Jarabacoa
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Santo Domingo, walking through the Colonial Zone to understand the city’s role as the first European settlement in the Americas and how its historic streets, plazas, and everyday life continue to shape the capital today
  • Visit the Alcázar de Colón, the former residence of Diego Columbus, where grand halls, period furnishings, and river views offer insight into early colonial power and daily life
  • Visit the Tres Ojos caves, descending into a dramatic limestone cave system to see crystal-clear underground lakes formed over thousands of years
  • Travel to Jarabacoa
  • Gather for a BBQ meal, enjoying a relaxed group dinner with grilled favorites and local flavors in an informal, social setting

Day 3:

Jarabacoa - Santiago
  • Travel to Santiago
  • Visit the Centro Cultural Eduardo León Jimenes, exploring exhibits that highlight Dominican art, history, industry, and cultural identity through interactive and contemporary displays
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Santiago, discovering the Dominican Republic’s second-largest city through its historic landmarks, regional identity, and everyday rhythms that define life in the Cibao Valley
  • Take part in a dance class, learning the basics of Dominican dance in an energetic, hands-on session that brings local music and movement to life

Day 4:

Santiago - North Coast
  • Travel to the North Coast
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Puerto Plata, getting oriented to the city’s historic core and seaside setting while learning how this north coast port shaped the region’s story
  • Visit Fortaleza San Felipe, touring the 16th-century Spanish fortress overlooking the Atlantic, with insight into colonial defense, piracy, and regional history
  • Join a Jiu Jitsu class, stepping into a structured session led by local instructors that introduces core techniques through movement, balance, and controlled drills

Day 5:

North Coast
  • Explore the Damajagua (27 Charcos) waterfalls, following a guided route through natural pools and cascades for an active, water-filled adventure — closed-toe shoes required (water shoes or old sneakers recommended, or available to rent on-site)
  • Visit a cacao farm, seeing cacao cultivation up close and learning how beans are processed into chocolate through hands-on demonstrations and tastings

Day 6:

North Coast
  • Take on a zipline course, gliding above the landscape on a series of lines designed for big views and big fun — participation subject to a weight limit set by the operator
  • Cruise to Cayo Arena and the surrounding mangroves, traveling by boat to experience shallow turquoise waters and the unique coastal ecosystem that thrives here

Day 7:

North Coast - Santiago
  • Unwind with beach time, enjoying a relaxed stretch to swim, recharge, and soak up the north coast atmosphere
  • Travel to Santiago
  • Enjoy a special farewell dinner to celebrate your journey and share a final meal with your group

Depart for home
