Day 1:

Welcome to Germany!
  • Meet your Tour Director at the airport
  • Travel to Rothenburg
  • Explore Rothenburg on foot with your Tour Director, wandering past half-timbered homes and into the central Marktplatz before stopping at the town hall’s centuries-old tower

Day 3:

Rothenburg - Munich
  • Travel via Augsburg to Munich
  • Guided by a local expert, walk through centuries of civic pride in Augsburg. Visit the golden halls of the Renaissance-era Town Hall and pass through the Fuggerei, the world’s oldest social housing complex still in use
  • Explore Munich on foot with your Tour Director, passing the soaring cathedral, New Town Hall’s chiming Glockenspiel, and the storied beer halls of Bavaria’s capital

Day 4:

Explore Munich
  • Guided by a local expert, trace Munich’s royal and cultural roots. From Marienplatz to the Residenz, experience a city shaped by dynasties, domes, and design. Take in the Olympic Stadium, Nymphenburg gardens, and the soaring towers of the Frauenkirche
  • Visit the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site to walk through preserved barracks and exhibitions that honor the victims and confront the realities of the Holocaust

Day 5:

Munich - Venice
  • Travel via Innsbruck to Venice

Day 6:

Explore Venice
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Venice’s layers of power and artistry. Visit St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, walk through St. Mark’s Square, and watch a live demonstration of Murano glassblowing
  • Enjoy a gondola ride along Venice’s iconic canals and experience the city from its most timeless perspective
  • Explore Venice on your own, from quiet canals and artisan shops to hidden corners beyond the main squares

Day 7:

Venice - Lucerne
  • Travel via Verona to Lucerne
  • Explore Verona on foot with your Tour Director, winding past Roman ruins and Renaissance facades to the Verona Arena and the balcony said to have inspired Shakespeare’s Juliet

Day 8:

Explore Lucerne
  • Explore Lucerne on foot with your Tour Director, crossing the covered Kapellbrücke, tracing the lakeshore promenade, and pausing at the Lion Monument carved into the rock
  • Free time or Optional Excursion to Mt. Pilatus
  • Opt to ascend Mount Pilatus by gondola for breathtaking alpine views above Lucerne, where snowcapped peaks rise over lakes and valleys

Day 9:

Lucerne - Heidelberg
  • Travel to Heidelberg, stopping in Freiburg, a historic university town in the Black Forest region
  • Enjoy free time in Freiburg to wander its cobbled streets, sunlit squares, or stop for a snack under the cathedral’s spire
  • Explore Heidelberg on foot with your Tour Director, strolling through the Old Town past Marktplatz, the historic university, and lanes that lead up to castle views and riverside charm
  • Enjoy a special farewell dinner to celebrate your journey and share a final meal with your group

Day 10:

Depart for home
