Explore Porto
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Porto’s hills and riverside charm. Visit the Porto Cathedral, pass through the colorful Ribeira district, and look up at the Clérigos Church tower rising above the tiled cityscape
  • Visit the Torre dos Clérigos, a Baroque bell tower that rises above Porto’s skyline, offering panoramic views after a climb up its narrow spiral staircase
  • Enjoy a Douro River cruise, gliding past terraced vineyards, historic port wine estates, and the red-tiled rooftops of Porto as the river winds toward the Atlantic

Day 4:

Porto - Coimbra
  • Travel to Coimbra
  • Guided by a local expert, explore Coimbra’s winding lanes and academic legacy. Pass through the old town, and see the tombs of Portuguese kings at Santa Cruz Monastery
  • Step beneath painted ceilings and ancient tomes as you visit the Coimbra University Library, a towering symbol of Portugal’s scholarly past

Day 5:

Coimbra - Lisbon
  • Travel to Lisbon, stopping in Nazaré for coastal views and in Fátima to see the revered pilgrimage site
  • Enjoy free time to explore Nazaré, where narrow lanes lead to sea views, surf shops, and cliffside perspectives
  • Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, one of the world’s most important Catholic pilgrimage sites, built where three shepherd children reported visions of the Virgin Mary

Day 6:

Explore Lisbon
  • Guided by a local expert, trace Lisbon’s age of exploration along the Tagus River. See the Tower of Belém and the striking Padrão dos Descobrimentos rising from the riverfront in stone
  • Visit the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture and resting place of Vasco da Gama, echoing Portugal’s Age of Discovery
  • Explore Lisbon on foot with your Tour Director, climbing through the twisting lanes of the Alfama quarter, past the Pombal Statue, and toward the Presidential Palace perched above the city
  • Free time or Optional Fado performance

Day 7:

Lisbon
  • Guided by a local expert, explore the palaces and coastlines of Portugal’s royal retreat. Wander Sintra’s fairytale streets and lush hills, then head to the seaside charm of Cascais for cliffs, beaches, and local color
  • Visit the Palácio Nacional de Sintra, with its twin chimneys, ornate tilework, and a history of Portuguese royalty nestled in the hills of Sintra
  • See the Boca do Inferno, where waves crash dramatically into seaside cliffs in a natural chasm whose name—“Mouth of Hell”—matches its thunderous roar
  • Enjoy a special farewell dinner to celebrate your journey and share a final meal with your group
